Charles Calkins is a trial attorney at The Moses Firm: Medical Malpractice Lawyers, where he represents individuals and their families in catastrophic medical malpractice and personal injury cases.
Before joining the firm, Charles practiced at Kirkland & Ellis LLP in New York, where he represented leading corporations in high-stakes securities and commercial litigation. His work there defending clients from multi-billion-dollar lawsuits honed the rigorous preparation and advocacy skills he now brings to his clients at The Moses Firm: Medical Malpractice Lawyers.
Charles’s path to trial practice began in New Orleans, where he interned with the Orleans Public Defenders. There, he saw firsthand the impact that strong advocacy can have on people’s lives, which in turn inspired him to pursue a career in the law.
After earning his English degree from New York University, Charles returned to fighting for clients in the courtroom as a paralegal at a New York white collar criminal defense firm. That hands-on foundation in drafting, strategy, and trial prepared him for the University of Georgia School of Law, where he excelled both inside and outside the classroom.
At Georgia Law, Charles competed in mock trial and moot court, served on the Georgia Law Review, and gained valuable in-chambers experience through internships with federal judges in both the Northern and Southern Districts of Georgia.
